It's mind-blowing how successful businesses emerge from ideas of minds that saw opportunities in what no one else saw as an opportunity. Although, words and ideas don't describe or predict the success of a business. Involuntary Reroute is a nonfiction book by Robert Laney. The book introduces readers to the reality of the 90s, where airline tickets were booked manually by an air travel agent, and not deeply rooted in the internet. During this time, the protagonist, a 19-year-old Babson College entrepreneur, and his mother, co-joined to start up an air travel business, and also decided to add a few perks for their investors, which included giving out reduced rate of first-class air travel tickets to their investors, and pitched them with the promise that they would fly like owners with a little investment of theirs.

This was made possible through the AD75 program introduced by airlines to sell out their first-class tickets. However this mother and son business soon turns sour as they faced challenges that evolve around betrayal, asset freeze, revenge, and lawsuits. But would they come out unscathed? Would their business see a breakthrough again?

It's noteworthy that the main aim of this book is to expose airlines' trickery of how they make individuals overpay for first-class tickets, which was explained sublimely and understandably.

The main objective of the book was fulfilled. Additionally, I found the book quite interesting as I could understand the life of the protagonist, as he goes through the toss and toil in trying to save, revive and make his business a success. The writing style is superb, and the author's choice of words is great, easy to grab and understand well.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as I couldn't pinpoint a thing I disliked about the book, the book was well written, quite concise, and easy to read. It wasn't a hard or boring one. The book seems to be well edited, although I encountered a few errors, they were just very minor mistakes and didn't interfere with the book's progression.

For recommendations, I feel this book sheds so much light on areas of growing a business. I think it would appeal to prospective entrepreneurs, as they're a few elements and take-points present in the book that may be of good help. And I would also recommend this to people who crave to learn about the airline industry.
