Review of Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition)
"When the fat lady sings" probably sounds like an insult. The opposite is the case. The phrase above is known as an idiom. It is a phrase that means something more than its literal definition. Many people have heard idioms spoken to them but did not understand. Traditional Chinese-speaking people living in an environment where English is the official language have probably listened to these idioms a lot. Well, the days of being confused about the meanings of phrases that everyday people use are over. In Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition), Peter Liptak presents you with over 250 idioms that you can use on any occasion. All of the idioms are followed by definitions, examples, and exercises. The beauty of the book is that, even though an English-speaking author wrote it, it has been subsequently translated into traditional Chinese for your benefit.
Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition) is the answer to my prayer. I have always wanted to learn how to use these phrases appropriately. The truth is that getting these idiomatic expressions has never been a problem. A quick search on the internet will pull down a list of over 10,000 idioms. However, none of those articles explain these idioms like Peter Liptak did in this book. His words were simple and straight to the point. He also used pictures to illustrate some of the things he wrote. I love those pictures because they look so simple and visually pleasing.
What I like the most are the exercises after each thematic chapter. These were like hurdles for me to jump over. They challenged me to test how much I understood everything the author taught me in the book. The subjective questions that followed the story made me answer and write things down like an elementary school student. After doing most of these exercises, I vividly remembered many idioms I saw in the book.
Peter Liptak changed my life with Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition). He showed me that I could speak in a fancy manner too. Errors were simply non-existent in this book. I have to say that I am impressed that Peter Liptak edited it exceptionally well. I ended up not disliking anything about it either. It would be wrong of me not to give it a perfect rating since I loved everything I saw in it. Therefore, I award Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition) the rating of 4 out of 4 stars .
Everything in Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition) was translated into Chinese from the English language. This translation serves as a clear message that this version is meant to aid ESL learners that speak Chinese. I only recommend it to learners that have already begun the process of mastering the English language. Beginners will find this book quite confusing.

I wonder how many idoms the second volume will have. This one has 300. I hope the next one has 1000.
