The future of buildings, transportation and power is a great masterpiece that inspires young minds of the twenty-first century to think great. It's a book that talks about the evolution of our world in terms of power, transportation and buildings starting from antiquities to our modern day and even beyond. It shows us that our world is evolving into a stage where houses and transportation will be sentient; they will communicate and attend to our needs before we even request them. On the other hand, it refers to power as that which has the capability of improving from high cost to low cost.

On buildings; Roger Duncan and Michael E. Webber wrote that buildings would evolve into a sentient state and will have the capability to interact with other buildings. They further explained that the current nature of our buildings will change in time to mobile form. That is, it would have the capability to be moved from place to place as we do our mobile phone devices. It is stressed in this book that houses will have access to the internet which will make it possible to get information and interact with each other. Therefore buildings will be sentient and interactive unlike what we have in the past.

Transportation on the other hand has always been evolving starting from the ancients when we use horses to when they were replaced with machines. This book; The future of buildings, transportation and power shows that like buildings, transportation will be sentient. It would evolve to a stage where drivers will not be needed. That is, it will pilot itself and make possible arrangements for future travels. Future cars will have access to the Internet and make interactions with buildings as well. The cars will be electric and they will survive on large batteries which can be recharged once they run down on power.

Finally, this book talked about power and it made so much emphasis on its evolution and how it affects transportation and buildings. Power before now was generated from coal to power trains to the point cars were invented and fossil fuels became the new power generator. Roger Duncan and Michael E. Webber postulated that due to the vast emissions of waste from these engines called carbon monoxide we will soon evolve to solar in other to produce pure energy that will be less expensive and affordable.

In summary, the future of buildings, transportation and power is a book that seeks to address the issue of our world in terms of its power generation, transportation and buildings on which the life of man is dependent. This book is excellent and I give it a 4 out of 4 rating.
