Review of The First Time Father
The First Time Father: The Expectant Survival Guide for First-time Dads Through Pregnancy Journey by Alfie Thomas is a non-fiction book that prepares all fathers to be; what they need to expect during pregnancy and after the arrival of their babies.
The author starts by sharing his personal experience about how their first child was born. He shared all that he goes through during the period of his wife’s pregnancy, and the mistakes he makes which he wants all fathers to learn from. The author also shared pregnancy lingo that parents must know to be safe during the period of pregnancy. This book simply explains how babies come out and develop month-by-month with the symptoms to expect as a father. After your baby is born, there are many things you must know to keep your baby healthy and also prevent both you and your partner from a lot of stress. To get a full knowledge of how you need to prepare yourself during the pregnancy and after your baby is born, get this book and read it.
The author did a great job in writing this book. This book is well researched and contains all the basic details needed for all fathers expecting babies. There are a lot of lessons from this book. One example is how the author explains ways to treat pregnant women and behavior changes to expect from your partner during the time of pregnancy. The way Alfie also listed foods and drinks to avoid during pregnancy is amazing. This will help prevent the baby’s health from being jeopardized and also keep the mother safe as well. I also like how Alfie listed perfect baby materials to gather for your kids and how to set up their room.
I love how the author makes use of pictures in this book. These pictures are perfect and fit well into each chapter. I also love how the author makes use of quotes at the beginning of each character. Those quotes are inspiring and motivate the readers for what they are to expect from each chapter. The way the author also makes references and mentions the name of the owners of each quote is amazing.
The author did a lot of hard work and research to write this amazing book. One thing I love most about this book is a lot of helpful advice it has for fathers. One helpful piece of advice is telling fathers to set up their financial income before the arrival of their babies. This book is interesting and the author’s writing was conversational. I did not find any negative things about the book.
The editorial team also did well. The book was professionally edited, as I only found few errors. Therefore, I would rate it four out of four stars. I would recommend it to all fathers that are expecting a baby soon. Anyone that will become a father would also enjoy reading this book as it will prepare them for what they should know and put into practice.
