Review of Butterfly Awakens
Facing grief is not easy. It gets more difficult when the reason behind our grief is losing a loved one. I think we all will agree on that. This book, Butterfly Awakens: A Memoir of Transformation Through Grief by Meg Nocero, is all about how the author took herself out of the darkness that seemed to have completely engulfed her after the death of her beloved mother.
When Meg got to know that her mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer, she did everything she could to save her. But, there's a limit to things we, as humans, can do. Meg was left aghast the day her mother, her biggest support system, left her alone in this world. All she could see around her then was darkness. In this book, she described being in this stage as being in a cocoon. Everything about it is held in the first part of this book. The second part talks about the process of metamorphosis, which contains how she got out of this cocoon of darkness. The third part holds her process of awakening, which is, getting back to her true self and the spirit of living, just like a butterfly, ready to fly.
Reading this book felt like getting on a journey of transformation with Meg. Going through a hard time myself, I could deeply relate to most of her emotions as I gradually lost myself in this book. It's hard to say which part or quote of this book was my favorite, but the one thing that struck me the most was what the author said about the universe's vibrations. She said it has a way of getting us, in every situation, to the things we need the most. I think that is how I came across this marvelous book.
I loved the encaptivating writing style that the author, Meg Nocero, used in this book. The pictures, poetry, and quotes she has added throughout the book made the journey of reading it much more enjoyable. I also loved reading about how supportive and loving the people around her were. I do not have anything negative to say about this book.
I believe this book has gone through professional editing, as I could not find any grammatical errors in its pages. I see no point in rating this book, Butterfly Awakens: A Memoir of Transformation Through Grief by Meg Nocero, with anything less than 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to people having a hard time going through grief and making peace with themselves. People who want to improve intellectually also should get their hands on this book.
