The Solution is Political Revolution by Jillion R. Rising is a book worth reading. The author presents his opinion on what is wrong in America today. He begins by pointing out that America’s history is full of revolutions. He raises some illuminating questions. Does the provision of illegal drugs contribute to high-paying jobs? The industries that have arisen to fight terror also provide jobs. He suggests that America is governed by politicians who put their interests first. Is the government manipulated by business people because they are the ones with the money? Do the media manipulate the information they give us? Because people no longer strive only to survive, a focus on luxuries and greed has arisen. His proposed solution is surprisingly simple and achievable.

The book is written in first-person narrative and is 254 pages long. It is a comfortable read, despite the heavy topic. The author uses logic to explain his reasoning. The author’s tone is persuasive, but not overbearing. He is articulate and interesting. I liked the fact that each chapter had an action/reaction section. He also repeats his aims at certain points for clarity and effect. This reminded me of a teacher/lecturer aiding his students in their learning process.

I also liked the fact that the book has a positive message. Instead of only presenting criticisms, the author has explanations and possible solutions. He presents a thought-provoking message that it serves government to highlight the differences of its people to shift the focus away from government failures. He also provides some interesting tables and graphs to illustrate his points. The statement that the collective voice has power is a unifying idea that is badly needed at this time in history when there are so many problems in the world. It is empowering to be encouraged to think differently and to be reminded that citizens have the majority compared to those in the government.

There was nothing that I disliked about the book. It surpassed my expectations. I enjoyed reading the logical explanations and the references to historical events. If the book was summarized and shortened into an article of 2 to 3 pages, thereby making it quick and easy to read for those who are not avid readers, it would be possible to reach even more people. The more people who have access to this enlightened author’s point of view, the better.

The editorial team did an exceptional job. I did not spot any errors. I enjoyed the book. The author took time to research his arguments. I am happy to rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to readers who are interested in history, current events, how economies and governments work, and those interested in understanding the status quo and how to improve it. Those interested in politics and debates and modern problems will also enjoy this book.
