We each have our own set of principles that we adhere to. And, at times, we have no choice but to compromise due to the circumstances we find ourselves in. When we find ourselves in difficult situations over which we have no control, we bend our values to fit the situation, to fit in. But here, Frank Douglas, author of Defining Moments of a Free Man from a Black Stream, tells us that it's okay to be unique.

Frank is a (former) Guiana resident (now known as Britain Guyana). He comes from a low-income family that includes his mother and five other siblings. Frank wants to change his situation, so he takes his academic performance very seriously. He passed the Senior Cambridge Examination, making him eligible for a college scholarship in the United States. Frank was able to overcome numerous obstacles through scholarship, hard work, and diligence. He rises to become one of the world's most renowned scientists. He took science courses ranging from pharmacology to biophysics to advanced chemistry. Later, Frank attended Cornell Medical School to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. To learn about his journey, read this memoir.

This is one of, if not the, best memoirs I've ever read. This book is fantastic. I really like it. The author did an excellent job. Life as a black man in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s had to be the most difficult. This is because white people were open about their dislike for black people. So, success is unquestionably difficult. Frank's determination to make a difference inspires me. His story depicts the pain of growing up without a father figure, his desire to succeed, the pain of not fitting in, the pain of doubting oneself, and the fear of being different.

He taught me a lot of things. It's fine to be uninterested in what other people like. It's fine to be unique as long as you're on the right track. Just because everyone else is compromising does not mean you have to. I applaud his bravery and dedication. Many emotions gripped me as I read, from worry about him to sadness to joy. When I read the part where people were looking for him all over the world and wanting to work with him, I felt very strongly for him. Those who reject you will seek you out when you have value.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was that he didn't talk much about his family. Throughout the novel, he only mentioned them briefly and infrequently. It was not a negative aspect of the story in my opinion. It would have been preferable if he had spoken more about them. This gets 4 out of 4 stars from me. It was well worth reading. His experiences taught me a lot.

While reading, I found no errors. As a result, it is not only professionally edited, but it is also exceptionally edited. Only a few instances of profanity were found. As a result, I will recommend it to people aged 16 and up. It's also appropriate for people who enjoy reading memoirs. I hope almost everyone reads this because it is worthwhile. It's not the same as other books.

There's a lot to learn from this book. Racism is doing a lot of harm to this world. Franks life was also interesting to read. Good review

His life sounds inspiring. I think that all doctors sacrifice a lot to graduate; In the author's case, the sacrifice was greater, having to deal with so many problems. I love memoirs, so I hope I get the chance to read it.
