Review of Firstborn Daddyman
The story of a young man with the nickname “Daddyman” who was raised in a Christian environment and surrounded by a caring extended family is told in Frank Bailey’s book, Firstborn Daddyman. His grandmother, Ana, who was a fervent preacher and provided him with a strong basis in Christianity, is his maternal grandmother. Because he is the only son, his mother is also severe and overly protective of him. He was living in an area full of vices when he was a teenager, including drug use, smoking, nasty gangs, and so on. How did he come up with the moniker “Daddyman”? Was he susceptible to the atmosphere he was in at the time?
Before leaving, he decided to visit the maritime academy. He started dating Laurel in the ninth grade and dated her up until he left. He had an unplanned pregnancy with Beverly before going to marine school, but he had intended to return to marry Laurel after graduating. When he returned, Laurel was already pregnant with someone else. Although he was upset, he married her and had the child out of love for her. Then, while attending Officer Candidate School, he had several difficulties, including prejudice, hostility from his peers, being imprisoned, and being returned home empty-handed. He was also living apart from his wife at this point.
This narrative taught me to work hard and not give up easily in the face of obstacles, as opposed to being idle. I also discovered how a child who grew up in a split-up family or a youngster who did not have a better relationship with their parents ended up in adulthood. The teenage years are that time in a person’s life when they are being shaped into the person they will become as adults. Therefore, parents need to be careful about how they treat their kids at this age. Parents should also try to teach their children about sex rather than let them learn about it from peers.
Despite the plot’s complexity, the author did a fantastic job of correctly establishing the characters. The book is divided into chapters with captivating titles that draw readers in and introduce them to the chapter’s material. The memoir’s author also made sure that every section was properly organized. It should be noted that this book has excellent editing because I detected no typos or grammatical problems while reading it.
There were no issues for me when reading this book other than the absence of diagrammatic images for in-depth comprehension. Second, although it wasn’t enough to take away a star, neither the protagonist’s real name nor the names of his parents were stated in this book. Accordingly, I will give this book four out of four stars. I would advise anyone who wants to learn how to curtail or lessen drug addiction to read this book. It is a way to achieve complete peace, so I would also advise it to those who wish to commit their lives to Christ.
