A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a non-fictional book that delves into the life and ordeals of the main character. This book is a memoir. A Dream For Peace contains 644 pages, and it is divided into seventeen chapters with specific headings. Ghoulem was born in Aï Beïda, northeastern Algeria. The first chapter of this book talks about Ghoulem's childhood. It also talks about the traditions of the clans that lived within the northeastern part of Algeria. Ghoulem's father died when he was three years old. After his father had died, Ghoulem's mother did not remarry, and she decided to give him the best form of education. After completing his Cours Complémentaire, Ghoulem attended Collège de Batna. At some point, he moved to France where he studied medicine at the University of Bordeaux. During his stay in Bordeaux, he joined the student union with the aim of fighting against discrimination and racism. The second chapter of this book talks about the general strike that the Algerian students embarked on, and it also talks about the consequences that they encountered. The second chapter also talks about his departure from France, and it also talks about the beginning of his romantic relationship with Antoinette. The third chapter of this book talks about his struggle in Morocco. Ghoulem encountered a lot of challenges, but it did not stop him from fighting for the independence of his country.

A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a unique non-fictional work that was written with a first-person narrative. The book has a table of contents. The author did a good job of using understandable words to describe and explain the characters' actions, emotions, and environment. The book revolves around racism, colonialism, peace, coexistence, discrimination, love, and segregation.

There are many concepts within this book, and I learned a lot from the author's perspective. Africanism revolves around the eurocentric representation of Africans. I admire the author's perspective on religion and secularism. In my opinion, I think there is a connection between all forms of religion that can help in the coexistence of humanity, but it is necessary to know that race and culture influence the mentality of humans.

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. However, I did not notice any negative aspects while reading this book. I learned a lot from the challenges that Ghoulem encountered during his lifetime. I learned about perseverance, courage, sacrifice, love, patriotism, and commitment to duty. I also learned that it is necessary to show respect for the faith of others. It is good to know that Ghoulem was determined, and it helped him to achieve his goals. I also love the relationship between Ghoulem and Antoinette.

This book was well written. A Dream For Peace was exceptionally edited. I did not notice any grammatical or spelling errors while reading this book.

Nationalism is an interesting idea, and it involves a lot of things, but it can be very risky when it is practiced within the border of an opposing nation. I learned a few lessons from this book. I will recommend this book to lovers of biographies and memoirs. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the few points mentioned above and because of the author's perspective.

I do not like non-fiction, though this is a great review the description of this book convinced me that it is really not my taste.

A Dream For Peace does not sound like a book I'd be interested to read, thanks for your review though.

This book sounds like a very insightful peice of political literature despite being a biography. Ultimately, the author's experiences end up as valuable lessons for readers. Thanks for the review.
