The book explored useful topics usually overlooked in today's society, like finances, mental health, sex education, and building quality relationships with one's kids. One of the most impactful discussions would be the part about managing finances. Schools would hardly teach personal finances and investments in classrooms. This book could close this void. A continuous healthy cycle would hopefully be initiated by keeping parents and teenagers informed. It was a practical book designed to render actual help to all parties involved.
An absolving validation came from the author's declaration that parents were not expected to be perfect. This would be a balm for many parents who would feel they were getting it wrong with their kids. At the same time, the book would equip them with the knowledge to get better at it. Also, reading it was even easier with the subtle humor the author incorporated in the book. An example was when the author added a quote from Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't kill their husbands." It was good humor that would get a chuckle from the reader.
