Just like everyone else, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah had goals in mind. In his book, A Dream for Peace, he tells the story of how he fulfilled his ambitions. The first chapter of this book gives a quick overview of the colonial period in the author's native nation. He was born in Algeria's province of Constantine. He was born in an era when Algerians were never truly free. For example, only settlers were permitted to spend and enjoy their vacations in the garden's center throughout the summer. The author claims that his people were not bothered by such strict regulations.

The author describes his humble but steadfast and proud upbringing in the same chapter of the book. In addition, he briefly describes his ancestry. This first chapter makes mention of a few of his relatives. When the author was old enough to go to school, he was sent to a newly constructed facility for indigenous kids. He also describes how indigenous children's teachers were brainwashed to convince them that France was their motherland. Discrimination existed at this time in Algeria as well as the other colonized nations in Africa.

In addition to enjoying the book, I also gained a lot of knowledge from it. I realized after finishing this book that memoirs are, in fact, my favorite type of book. This book, in my opinion, was well-written, inspirational, and informative. The writing style was the element that I liked and enjoyed the most. It was easy and fluid. The paragraphs were concise and well-structured. Because of this, I had no trouble reading the book. I also liked the author's use of detailed descriptions to convey the story's happenings. There was nothing about this book that I didn't like.

There were no grammatical or spelling problems in the book, indicating that it had undergone thorough editing. Another aspect of the book that I adored was the pictures. The presence of pictures helped to break up the monotony of reading the lengthy book. The book is substantial—it has roughly 644 pages, as was already mentioned. The plot was broken up into multiple chapters—roughly seventeen chapters—to do the book justice. The book's cover was beautifully made and created professionally. Additionally, the title was carefully chosen to reflect the book's subject.

I decided to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This ranking was determined by several factors. The book was enlightening and entertaining to read. Due to the book's writing style, I also gave it a full rating. It was incredible. The fact that the book was flawless is another factor in why I gave it a perfect rating. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy non-fiction novels, historical fiction, and motivational stories. This book was fantastic in all of its sections.
