Steve Harvey's Act Like A Success, Think Like A Success

Post by runwright »

If you want to be successful, your actions and your thoughts have to reflect that desire. You have to identify your gift and find a way to use it to contribute to the world.
Steve Harvey defines the gift as the single thing you do the absolute best with the least amount of effort. What’s that for you? Are you using it? Steve is probably perfect to write this book. He identified his gift for making people laugh and he’s very well known for making people laugh in lots of different arenas – a TV show, radio, game show, books and stand-up comedy. He’s successful but he didn’t start out that way. He had a dream when he was six and he worked for over thirty years before it came true but he never stopped trying. In the book, he shares his story about quitting his job to pursue his dream, about living in his car to pursue his dream, about failing and starting over every time because he wanted to pursue his dream.

The book is not just his story. Act Like A Success, Think Like A Success is a workbook to use the lessons Steve has learned to outline how you can create your own success. What excuses have kept you from pursuing your dream? What are the expectations you could have instead? How do you identify your gift and what vehicle can you use to help you use it? Who are the people you need to contact for advice or help?

In the author's own words, read this book if:
you’re not excited about getting up in the morning
you’re bored at your job
you have time to do everything anyone asks you to do
you have time to watch all your TV shows
you’re getting too much sleep
you’ve already accomplished a lot in your life and you’re wondering what’s next.

Sounds like an interesting book. I have never read anything by this author before. However, I may have to check this one out. Very nice review.
