Retirement age is one age that many don't usually plan for. In most situations, many while away time on frivolities and don't save for the future. When the reality of this age dawns on them, they realise it's almost too late and wish they could turn back the tides of time. Alas, it is closer to impossible at this time. However, the harsh reality of this period could be averted with proper planning, understanding and putting into action key decisions before reaching this age.

Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is one book that explicitly discusses this discourse in full detail. The author talks about how many don't often plan for retirement until they realise they are of age and become helpless. This, he mentions, often puts a risk to the future of many, especially those within his country. Alongside, he compares this state side by side with the early stages of many lives and how people should plan. In its entirety, he shares tips on how this abysmal situation can be and plans people can set in place pre and ideally post-retirement. Readers will learn a great deal of knowledge by having a grasp of this book and reading it till the end.

I honestly think many who give this book a trial will be so burdened with a great deal of financial education from it. As I was reading, I would mention that I was wowed by the author's depth of knowledge, especially regarding finance. Most people would spend lavishly in their youthful and vibrant days and fail to save for when they would not be agile to work anymore. I also appreciated the approach the author utilised in the book. He delved into some aspects of insurance while still being instructive with it. He also shared some jokes at many intervals in the book that I kept giggling at and got fascinated with.

More so, I liked the numerous questions and assessments shared at the end of the book because they were nothing short of reflective and engaging. The most important thing that caught my fancy turned out to be the additional external links that could further help readers learn more about this endeavour.

However, I felt the author's choice of words was full of many financial terminologies that could be hard to grasp while reading. Many would have to probably reread the book to understand more. Notwithstanding, it was nothing short of excellent.

I would rate it a 4 out of 4 stars due to the above-mentioned reasons, as well as many others. Others are because the book was flawlessly and professionally edited, so I found no errors. There was also no sexual content or profanity used in it.

I would recommend the book to youths and those of adult ages. This is because they would grow to understand and inculcate a financial or spending culture that is very unpopular, especially in these times.

Planning for the future is a paramount decision that we all should consider at an early age. Reading Reconfigurement made me realize the importance of planning for the future, because if we do not make plans we would face terrible financial consequences that would be detrimental to us all.

Agreed! The humor was refreshing at first, but over time, it became repetitive and bland. Regardless, the information is invaluable for those seeking financial security post-retirement!
