Review of Reconfigurement
The pandemic forced a majority of working people to reconsider their life choices and look out for alternatives or to reshape their careers. It can be a tricky phase for anyone, especially when burdened with the responsibilities of the family, healthcare, education, and retirement plans. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book written to help people navigate such life situations and better plan financially for their future. The author consistently puts emphasis on the importance of planning ahead throughout the book. The author covers many areas, like how to discover one's career aptitude using different tests available; health insurance; different financial schemes; investing; etc. These topics are not covered vaguely but in a very objective manner with good examples.
The book has specific chapters dedicated to all the above-mentioned issues, covering them in detail and filled with technicalities of the system, personal insights, and funny jokes in between. The book overall reinforces the importance of financial planning, keeping the future in mind in order to transition into the retirement phase smoothly. The book also contains important references, links to relevant websites, and recommendations of other books that can be helpful for people looking to read more on career and financial planning.
The book has a lot of positive aspects. The book conveys important information in a very easy and segregated way. This does not create much confusion. The examples used are very well-structured and relatable. The facts presented make the material more authentic. The book is very crisply written. It is highly appreciated how the author has written about such an important topic in an easy manner that can be easily consumed by people.
There are no negative aspects in the book for me.
The book is very well edited. I didn't find any errors in the book. The book contains no profanity or sexual references. I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is an excellent guide with practical financial information presented in a clear and concise manner.
I would recommend this book to people over the age of 30 residing in the United States of America. The book can be a very practical guide to making informed decisions around career and financial planning, keeping the future in mind. The technical details regarding financial schemes are written keeping the American audience in mind, so those technical details might not be helpful for people outside that region.
