Reconfigurement is the result of E. Alan Fleischauer spending a winter studying for the Retirement Income Certified Professional Designation. The author of the book learned that most Americans will need to work past the retirement age of 65. This led Fleischauer to write this book, where he covers all the steps to reconfigure your life and reach retirement without having to worry about money and finances, allowing you to enjoy your life doing all the things you love.

The book is divided into fourteen chapters, and each one of them covers a different aspect of Reconfigurement Financial Planning such as life protection, investments, retirement plans, and health insurance. There's even a chapter that describes social security myths and explains why most of them are wrong. In the end, the author provides a conclusion on all the subjects discussed throughout the book and gives some insight into his personal motivation behind writing Reconfigurement.

Reconfigurement is an exceptionally well-written non-fiction book. Every aspect mentioned throughout the text is thoroughly explained, and we are provided with helpful links and websites to continue our research on the subject being presented. One thing I loved about the book was a particular story about a rural Afghan farmer that responded to every situation with the mindset that nothing is either good or bad. This story was used to explain that every situation has the potential to be good, and I found that section noteworthy.

I can't think of anything negative to say about the book. I can see how someone might not enjoy the jokes that are included every few pages. However, they did not affect my enjoyment of the book; I simply didn't care for them. Although I'm far from retirement, I appreciated the points made by the author regarding planning ahead and taking advantage of every opportunity presented to you and making it a turning point in your life.

I believe Reconfigurement is a 4 out of 4 stars book. I don't have anything unfavourable to say about it and since I found no errors, I consider it exceptionally well edited. I recommend this book to adults between the ages of 40 and 50 since they are in a better position to reconfigure their lives, according to the author. However, if you are outside of this age range, some of the points made about planning and enjoying your life will be helpful to people of all ages.
