The book, Reconfigurement, is a book that guides a person on how to plan his/her retirement and old age. The author, E. Alan Fleischauer believes that life expectancy in our contemporary times has increased to between 75-80 years old. This is due to advancements in medical science. With this rise in life expectancy comes a greater need for financial resources to manage one's life for this extended period. This book is a guide on how to prepare and plan for a stress-free old age. It talks about the need for budgeting. It also talks about the need for a person to live a satisfying life by pursuing a career he/she is passionate about. It talks in-depth about insurance plans a person can explore which can help secure his old age. It also talks about measures to take to ensure a healthy old age.

The thing I loved most about this book is the fact that the author used humor to keep the book interesting. A typical example of this is in the second chapter where he states that he has the right to digress because he is the owner of the book. This kind of humor brings some form of respite to a reader because the book addresses a very serious subject. I love the part on the necessity of a budget. In a world where people are quick to display wealth and affluence, there is a need to have a budget for your spending and not get carried away by the bandwagon.

The thing I loved least in the book and I found challenging is the fact that there are so many technical financial terms in the book. I had to pause the book several times and go to look up these terms. The editing in this book is professional. There were no errors or typos in the book.

As for the rating, I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. This perfect rating is given because the book teaches people to be intentional about their lives. It teaches that we should not live our lives on fate and circumstances.

Anyone that has gotten to 18 years of age should read this book. It would stimulate them to start planning their finances. It would also help them to have a direction for their lives. It is also recommended for people that are nearing retirement. It would educate them on the options available to ensure a pleasant post-retirement.
