When a person fails to plan, that person is planning to fail. This is essentially the core message of this book, Reconfigurement. The author, E. Alan Fleischauer is a seasoned financial counselor. In this book, he addresses the challenges faced by people who have retired from active service and encourages people to intentionally plan for this phase of life. He is of the view that with effective planning, one can still enjoy life after retirement. He explores insurance policy options that could be beneficial to a person in his/her post-retirement days. Summarily, this book is a great tool that can help a person plan a future that will guarantee peace of mind.

This book is a great tool for planning the future. I particularly love the author's use of real-life scenarios to buttress his points. I particularly love the chiropractor story. Through that story, the author emphasized the need for people to pursue careers that will give them happiness and satisfaction. I also love the fact that the author consciously educated people on the different financial options available for securing an enjoyable old age. I also love the part where he talked about wills and how they are administered. The author's writing style is simple and easy to comprehend.

The only thing that strained my enjoyment of this book is that the book is location-based. It doesn't have a global appeal. Most of the concepts covered in this book are only available in the United States. This makes it difficult for people outside the United States to benefit much from this book. Beyond that, it is a powerful book. The book is properly edited. I didn't pick out typos and errors in the book.

This book has opened my eyes to the need to be financially intelligent. From the things I have learned from reading this book, I am already making plans for my future, even as a young person. I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I couldn't take anything from this book. That's because the book is highly informative and educational.

As for recommendations, this book is highly recommended for young people who have just started earning income. It will help them to set financial goals and make decisions that will ensure a comfortable life in old age. It is also recommended for professionals in the financial sector. The depth of financial knowledge in this book could help them advance their professional careers.
