Review of Reconfigurement
What do you plan on doing once you retire? What are you really good at? What do you love to do and can you make enough money doing it? How much money is enough? How do you transition into your new career and how long will it take you to make that transition? These are just some of the pertinent questions the author poses in this highly informative and mind provoking self-help book. E. Alan Fleischauer, a financial advisor for over 20 years, has researched books that address left brain and right brain solutions for financial stability and come up with a program that addresses the gap between reality and tradition which entails restructuring your life at any stage and planning ahead.
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is very mind provoking addressing various facets that an individual needs to keep in mind to ensure financial stability even after retirement. It includes chapters expounding on social security, insurance, both health and otherwise, investment, retirement and more. The dedication of the various topics to different chapters really helps the reader to assimilate what the author is trying to put across and makes it really easy even for someone who does not have much experience with financial terminology. The diverseness of the topics is a no-brainer going even into divorce claims. I just love how the author gives a step-by-step guide on how to get financial stability in the long term. There are some very mind boggling facts that bring to the fore some serious issues about the financial state of many Americans and this can apply to most people worldwide. I also liked the quotes from the likes of Winston Churchill, Confucius, Ben Franklin among others.
The author has also incorporated links at the end of the chapters which provide the reader with more information should they want to do more research on their own. There is also an extensive bibliography at the end of the book which goes to show just how much research the author put into it. There are some very amusing anecdotes and jokes that make the book immensely entertaining while being very informative. I believe the fact that the author has written fiction before contributes to this. The fact that the book contains no errors or mistakes that I could not discern leads me to believe that the book was professionally edited.
I can't say that there is anything that I disliked about this book. The editing was flawlessly done, the book itself, even with it's technical terms, is quite enjoyable and the author has done a great job in his delivery. I give the book a rating of four out of four for these reasons.
The author hints that this book is ideal for those who are between the ages of forty and fifty five but can be used at any stage in one's life and I tend to agree. I would recommend the book for anyone who has reached a point that they feel the need change careers or those actively looking for work. Basically the book is for anyone who plans on retiring comfortably.
