Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a guide for planning your future financially. The world is changing, and we need to be updated. People have started to live longer, and that requires special planning for their golden years. The writer takes us through the book's chapters to discover the importance of planning for your later years. He says there is a difference now between tradition and reality. In reality, Americans are living longer. As per that, he goes through the different options you can benefit from to achieve your goal and prepare for what you will need in the future.
What I liked about the book is that the author tried to make this heavy content lighter through his writing style and some jokes. It is still a heavy topic, but a smile now and then enhances the experience. I also liked the realistic examples the writer gave due to his work in the financial field. He saw and helped many people in different situations, so he could provide valuable advice. He also spent a respectable amount of time studying these matters, so he speaks out of experience. In addition, he assigned a chapter to talking about personality tests, to help you understand your potential and help you plan or change your career. I found that useful.
What I didn't like about this book can't be generalized. I think it will differ from one person to another according to many factors. As a person who doesn't live in the United States of America, I didn't relate to most of the content of the book. It handles special types of systems that exist in the US. I'm not sure if the same systems are used in other countries, but definitely not in mine. This doesn't mean the book isn't useful. If you are not an American, you can get general tips here and there. Also, the content wasn't always easy to digest. The writer tried to make it fun, but still, there is a lot to understand.
The book serves its purpose and covers the needed points, and I couldn't find many errors while reading. Therefore, I rate this book four out of four stars.
The book is mainly beneficial for people who live in the US. They would benefit from it the most. People who live in other countries may get some general tips, but most of the systems mentioned in the book won't apply to them.
