E. Alan Fleischauer, owns and runs a financial advisory, and retirement planning firm, named Fleischauer Financial Management Inc. In his book titled Reconfigurement E. Alan Fleischauer provides valuable lessons to the American industry. In the author's own words "reconfigurement is about planning ahead". He believes there is a gap between reality and tradition. It is time for the American industry to rethink the traditional approach to retirement. Retirement strategies should include pre and post retirement activities, and prudent management of assets in order to retire comfortably at age 65.

The book addresses critical areas of reconfigurement such as life insurance and annuities, income, Social security, investment options, health care plans, and estate Wills and gifts. The author also believes one's biggest asset is the ability to work, and earn a living. With this said, disability insurance is an important component. Income once earned also needs protection. With the now prolonged lifespan among Americans, the number of senior citizens has increased, and the older people become, the more they need expensive medical care. Medicare, a well known USA medical package is now essential among Americans. The need to prepare a Will to apportion your investments when you are gone is important. Read Reconfigurement to learn how to secure your future.

I found the book very interesting. The author intelligently provided links to websites where the reader can get more references to back up the information provided in the book. The writing style was clear and simple making it easy to understand. The author also spiced up the book with jokes that act like refreshers for the reader. To write a book on financial matters, and at the same time keep the reader captivated is a challenge as many easily get bored with it. Huts off to the author for keeping me captivated through my read.

I did not find any grammatical errors in the book except a few typos, and the editing was exceptionally well done. My rating of the book is 4 out of 4 stars. I did not find anything to warrant removing a star from my rating.

Though the book is focused on Americans, I believe it can be useful to people in other countries as well. I recommend it to all who are in employment awaiting retirement, and would like to prepare for a better future. I also recommend it to those self employed who know that a day is coming when they will need to rest in old age.
