Love, by Leo Buscaglia

Post by DATo »

Love

Leo Buscaglia was amazed to learn that he was able to register the copyright to the book title 'Love'. Unbelievably, no one had ever copyrighted it before.

Buscaglia was the real thing - he was absolutely genuine. He didn't write this book or lecture for money. He did it because one of his students committed suicide at USC while he was teaching philosophy there and he felt he had to do something. So he became a writer and speaker in addition to being a teacher. He began this out of a sense of guilt over the death of his student - that he didn't do more to make sure it didn't happen (though he probably couldn't have known what was going to transpire). He felt she would not have died if there was anyone around to have loved her enough to know of her troubles whereby they might have given her support. He spent the rest of his life preaching of love to atone.

The link below is about 45 minutes long and it can better describe this book than anything I can offer. If you can suffer through the entire 45 minutes it might just change your life. Buscaglia changed a lot of people's lives, including mine.

Leo Buscaglia did not preach religion but this lecture concerns Christmas time so there are some allusions to Jesus. Be patient. It's not about religion.

This book came to me at a very critical time in my youth. I was standing at the precipice & totally prepared
to go over, when I read it. I would definitely recommend this book to any young person who feels that there
is no hope in this life. I fully believe that this book influenced me at a spiritual level too & could do the same for
others. This book will ALWAYS be relevant.
