Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about the need for making schedules and planning, not just in the workplace but in your personal life as well. The book also discusses the importance of planning out your retirement, budgeting, and having jobs that you love because these things impact our lives and happiness significantly. Furthermore, the author covers the topics of investment, health insurance, life insurance, and inheritance. These things were all talked about in depth. The book, in its entirety, is about changing aspects of your life that could cause or are causing stress and difficulties in your life.

Although the cover and name made me expect a different kind of content, my opinion of the book is entirely positive. The chapters were short to the point. It makes points and information easily understandable and keeps the reader engaged. The short jokes at the end of the chapters helped make it not feel monotonous and academic. The topics covered were, I think, essential to aspects of our lives but are easily missed by us. The recommendations of the resources and websites for personal assessments and budgeting were very useful, and they would definitely come in handy when one is planning. It would also save you the time you would have used to search for those things.

There was nothing in the book I would consider negative. Even its length, which was very short, makes the book more engaging to the reader. Long books that aren’t novels can easily discourage people from reading. But because of its length and the length of the chapters, it doesn’t tire a person out. Finances, especially financial jargon, can be hard to understand, but the diction was clear.

The book was well written and had a conversational tone to it. It makes the reader feel like they are having a natural conversation with the author. It was very informative and detailed, but it did not overwhelm the reader with sheer facts and unknown terminology. It was exceptionally well-edited. I did not find any grammar, punctuation, or typos in it. I thought there were three spelling mistakes in it, but I could be mistaken. Therefore, I give this book a 4 out of 4.

The book would definitely help you plan your future finances or help a loved one prepare for theirs. The book gives well-needed advice with references and in a humorous way. I recommend this book to people who want to improve their retirement plans or want to learn about retirement planning, health insurance, life insurance, and even inheritance.
