Review of Reconfigurement
Proper planning and execution are the secrets of living a stable, happy, and content life. The book, Reconfigurement focuses exactly on these aspects in financial terms to help make people’s life more secure.
This book is a nonfictional work by E. Alan Fleischauer. It is around 80 pages long, divided into 13 chapters. In this book, the author mainly talks about financial planning, saving, investing, and all things related to leading a happy and financially abundant life, now and also after retirement. Here, he has given the average American’s statistics of financial situation and has described their living conditions. He has also explained various schemes like 401k, IRA, insurances, etc in which the people invest and get great results. The author has also touched upon career testing, work ethics, career planning, etc. So, if you want to know more about planning your finances, then go ahead and read this book.
I found this book to be highly informative. The author has beautifully explained all the financial terms simply and eloquently which makes it easier for beginners and amateurs to understand. One of my favorite parts of this book is the Career Aptitude Assessment. That helped me a lot to understand my personality type in terms of my job and career. I appreciate the author for stressing the importance of life and health insurance, which are crucial in these times. Though the author recommends this book for 40-50-year-olds, I think that it applies to all people who have a source of income irrespective of age. According to me, it is earlier the better. In this, the author has also given various references for the reader to refer to and understand more things in detail. I admire the author for incorporating humor in form of quotes in this educational book, which kept me more interested in this. One of my favorite quotes from the book is, “Treat your body like it belongs to someone you love.” I completely resonated with this.
Overall, this is a wonderful book to read on personal finances and financial planning. There is nothing that I disliked about this book. This seems well-edited, as I did not find any errors while reading. With that being said, I rate Reconfigurement 4 out of 4 stars. I have no reason to rate this any lower.
I highly recommend this book to people who are looking to retire with a good corpus of money. This is also suitable for those who are interested in personal finance and wants to be financially literate. This is not suitable for those who are looking to get rich overnight. So, if you are looking to take a step into your financial journey, then this book is a must-read for you.
