Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a short book that gives an overview of a retirement plan and importance of planning a head. This book touches on a variety of topics such as career choice, retirement schemes and investing. The book is split into thirteen different chapters and each chapter covers new topic. The chapters can be read in any order or they could be skipped if they do not apply to the reader's life. The book is also quiet short, less than one hundred pages but gives enough explanation in each chapter so that it is not overwhelming.

I think for me personally the most informative chapter was the career choice guidelines chapter. It gave a bunch of different ways of making the right choice on careers and guidelines on changing careers if one is already in one and he or she is not in love with it. It also gave what to check in one's personality so that one can land into a better career. He gives examples of softwares that one can use to help him or her make a better career choice. He also gave examples of resources that could be accessed if the reader wants to know more. This was common throughout the whole book and at the end of the book there is a list of additional resources. These resources were my favourite part of the book.

The part I liked least is some suggestions specifically in the Medicaid and Medicare section. The conditions that were there for one to enjoy the benefits after making commitment were very difficult. On the career choice section, the softwares could suggest careers that one lacks passion in. As a student I think one should be doing what he or she has passion in but not doing what a machine suggests. The section also had some good suggestion as well. One of them is consulting with relevant advisors before making a commitment in any opportunity presented.

I did notice few minor issues throughout the book. However, there was not a significant number. I believe the book was professionally edited.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I think the author did an excellent job touching on many different topics that are important in future planning. I feel as if there was enough details but it was not overwhelming. I feel as though as everyone who has retired and is of working age would benefit from reading this book. Reconfigurement is a valuable life skill that many do not have. It is truly a book which provides valuable information on planning for future after retirement.
