Safety nets are increasingly becoming critical in an age where nothing is certain for anyone of us. Reconfigurement by Alan Fleischauer is a financial planning read that draws a reader to the importance of setting nets to catch you during the most unexpected moments. It is potentially a transformative instrument that helps you think about sound investment plans for a comfortable retirement, health insurance and planning out your estate to reap the most benefits. No! It is not about the doom and gloom.

Fleischauer appeals to our most basic fears of not being able to take care of ourselves when we can no longer afford to work. Throughout the book he directs the reader to think about employment benefits such as Insurance and whether out of pocket expenditure for healthcare will be affordable in one’s formative years. He also gets you to think about whether insurance benefits are transferable; essentially getting you to think about your career and long term work prospects.

I am not much of a financial buff, but I’ve always wanted to know more about financial planning and discipline and this book drew me in and kept my attention through the conversational tones that the author uses to deliver technical information in effect delivering a fun and easy-to-interact-with material about financial planning tools.

The highlight for me about this book is that it de-mystifies insurance, investment planning and lays bare the idea of buying supplementary insurance to ante up coverage on existing cover so that one can leverage insurance cover for their formative years where they may need extensive health-care. The author beckons you to think about your income as an asset which must work for you and grow this asset into a sustainable vehicle of unending benefits.

The attributes of wise investment choices, affordable health insurance and choosing the right career by Fleischauer are worth exploring. No matter how extensive of a read the book is, the ideas expressed therein are worth adopting in financial planning and I believe they could have a great impact in our lives.

I found no errors with the book. it does not contain profanity or profanity of any kind and I have no complaints with the book. This has been a positive breadth of my time in reading this page turner. Therefore I am giving it a rating of four out of four stars.

Reconfiguration is an eye opener for anyone who wishes to plan out their life financially. I recommend this book to everyone wanting to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and not having to worry about what will happen tomorrow. For anyone joining the workforce this book is for you.
