Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that covers many topics connected with self-development. It focuses on how crucial planning ahead and working a job you enjoy is. Besides that, we can read about planning a retirement or testing career aptitudes or investing and health insurance. Even though the book is only 165 pages long it is absolutely filled with insightful remarks and advice. Despite the demanding topics in the book, the author managed to keep the humour in his work. Thanks to that Reconfigurement is not also a quick and informative but also an entertaining book.
I especially enjoyed the chapters about financially planning for retirement. The author touched upon various aspects which are required to accurately secure the future in such a way so as not to feel anxious about it. In my opinion, this is an aspect people often omit or do not pay enough attention to it. People tend to live in the moment and then suddenly reality catches up with them. When this happens they wish they had done things differently in the past. This book shows what to do to not get in these types of situations. If people would follow tips from this book early enough they would have a more stable and comfortable retirement.
What makes this book stand out is the way it is written. The topics included in Reconfigurement are quite complicated and not everybody is interested in them which can often be connected with a lack of understanding of the given topic. However, E. Alan Fleischauer made sure that usually challenging descriptions of different financial concepts are simplified enough for an average person to comprehend them. Moreover, by adding some jokes the author changed the reception of the book. It allowed the book to be less formal and more enjoyable.
Another thing I really appreciated about the author is his humbleness. He doesn’t claim to be an absolute expert in all of the aspects touched on in the book. Instead of this, he lists some other sources that can give the reader a deeper insight into the specific topic. He has expertise in so many financial topics and he shared his personal experiences. Throughout the book, there are many anecdotes and stories that enhance the level of relatability of the content. I think that drawing from his own life and practice, the author gave this book much more meaning and wisdom. In a way, this procedure makes the book easier to understand and remember but also it creates a connection with the reader on a relatively personal level.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found this book to be an entertaining and quick read. I think that this book is extremely useful and knowledgeable. The book isexceptionally well edited with no typos, spelling or grammar errors. If read properly and implemented it can change the lives of many people. I would recommend it to everyone, not only people who are interested in finance. I think that young people would benefit from this book as well as adults. T
