Brief summary.

In a concise view from the book, the advertisement of Buildings, transportation sector, and the power grid in the future will almost change the reality of our living life style. We can briefly take from the book that serious work is currently being done and some planned based on new technologies to impact the revolution of buildings, transport and power. These predicted changes will certainly change the reality of our actual living life in the near future. Indeed, the revolution in the energy sector will play a driving role in that of buildings, transportation and the power grid. Otherwise, the energy impact will save much more time and materials as well as the conversion requests required for the construction and operation of future buildings, and transportation with the power grids. The three main sectors will be interconnected in their functionalities thanks to a single information system based on artificial intelligence. Particularly, buildings will be much more impacted by this forecast of the technological revolution based on artificial intelligence. They will function almost like robots and will be able to interact with humans. Their design and construction will be much faster with the application of new design technologies and information management systems. In addition, the buildings will be able to be self-sufficient in the energy necessary for their functionalities thanks to the revolution of solar energy with the reduction to almost zero carbon buildings in urban areas. The transportation sector will also be governed by the sentient-appearing system with new types of personal vehicles and taxis that will have the ability to operate in the air. However, because this new air transport system will require much energy, its accessibility to all the public will follow a very low rate. The electric generation sector is currently undergoing such a rapid transformation from large central power plants to smaller distributed generation with the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy. This makes and will continue to make electric consumption more autonomous, especially with the advent of new devices such as new computers, artificial farming systems, electric vehicles and many others. In addition, depending on each area and territory, and for a resilient economy adapted to electric consumption with the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, it will be necessary to diversify electric needs through sustainably efficient, renewable energy, energy storage, and nuclear energy. Finally, the integration of artificial intelligence in the electricity generation with the implementation of regional management and integration systems will make it smarter and much more resilient with the expansion of several small autonomous systems based on Renewable Energy Technologies.

Book title: The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power

Author's name: Roger Duncan and Michael E. Webber

Positive aspects
This book in its fundamental view relates a number of advantages that we enjoy and would continue to enjoy in the near and future. Indeed, with the revolution of buildings sector, we will save a lot of time in the design as well as the construction of our buildings, and their robotization system will make it possible to reduce certain expenditure in human resources and especially the revolution of solar energy which will considerably reduce the energy consumption costs of buildings as well as the transport system. Regardless of the transport sector, it will be much faster, saving enough time thanks to the new air systems. Moreover, the strengthening of the electrical energy generation system and their management adapted to each territory by new information systems and technologies, will make it possible to make each nation autonomous and therefore strengthen their economy.

Negative aspects
It is also necessary to be warned and to find means of repair and adaptation in the event of breakdowns in the new systems which are adopted. If a failure affects a single sector of the building, for example, because of their interconnectivity, this will probably affect the remaining both sectors and thus paralyze the life cycle. The autonomous air transport system is a commendable thing but it will be very difficult to control the cases of accident which would occur in the air. In other words, the risk of accidents would be very high and a little difficult to control even if air transport is known to the most safer, since its accessibility to all will more clutter the airspaces and may frequently cause accidents which would be difficult to control.

Rating
4/4

Justification of rating
The book is powerful enough to lead and develop the reality of our next future’s life. It creates a depth and add a more realistic feeling to it. Its objectives are clears and its goals show the plot develop as the characters overcome obstacles.
Recommendations
While this book is recommended to all the audience to let us know how our future is being to be and be prepared for it, its strongly recommended to all electrical, civil and structural, sustainable energies as well as technological and information management engineers to adapted their research works accordingly to what is being to be our needs in the current and further future.
