A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a non-fiction book. This book is based on the author's real-life experiences that he had to deal with over his lifetime. Ghoulem Berrah was raised in Aïn Beïda, a small town in Algeria, and was born a Muslim. His father died when he was still young. He was raised by his mother and was the only son. The author was born when France was still colonizing Algeria. While studying medicine in France, Ghoulem encountered bigotry. He decided to become an activist to stop the colonization of his nation. Even though he was imprisoned for fighting for justice, that did not stop him from seeking peace for his country. He obtained his medical degree while he was a student in France and then worked as a professor. He aimed to restore peace to Africa, and his mission was to give Africa a voice.

What I liked about the book was how the author selflessly sacrificed his life to ensure the freedom of his nation and fellow citizens. He advocated on behalf of everyone who endured pain in silence, forfeited their family, freedom, and even the opportunity to live independently. The amount of suffering and pain he had to go through to accomplish what he thought was best for his country cannot be adequately expressed in words. Despite everything, he fought and did not give up. This also teaches people not to despair in life and fight for what is right. What I also liked about this book was how openly the author discussed his childhood.

There is nothing I disliked about the book because it was well-written. Even though the book was too long, that did not stop me from reading. My curiosity while reading the book got the better of me, the book was satisfying. Even the book's simplicity makes it easier for readers to follow along.

The book was remarkable and interesting. As a result, my thoughts on what he wrote expanded, and I started to use my imagination.  Since I did not discover any mistakes or flaws in the book, I can conclude that it was professionally edited. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to individuals who enjoy memoirs and political history.
