Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is an interesting book that helps us think in a different way of our life before and after retirement. The author encourages us to reconfigure our plans for retirement and helps us set our goals for this important stage of our life. Also how this stage would be like, would it be just for saving money and being worried about this matter plus feeling bored with the nature of life after retirement, or we can do something suits our ambition and being satisfied with interesting work even after retirement. E. Alan Fleischauer shows how it would be a wrong idea to think about our retirement plan just when we approach the age of 65. Also he explained how to evaluate our current job and if it suits us or not through number of standards helping us decide when and how to change our job as a part of reconfigurement plan. The book also gives us a good idea about types of life insurance, social security and health insurance as well. The author also explained how to invest our money in a right way, for example mutual funds, their types and what suits us to invest our money in.

I liked many things about this book. The author gives his advices according to his practical experience in financial field as he has been a financial advisor for more than 20 years, which covered many aspects for him about retirement. So he can discuss important details in our career and give his valuable advice about it. For example, his advice about disability insurance policy, if someone takes a job, he has to make sure that the company offers a group disability policy which should be portable meaning he can convert this policy into a personal one and be his own when he leaves the job. This simple point is very important, also helpful when comparing between two jobs. The book is also well edited. There are alot of interesting stories and funny jokes in this book which made it interesting despite financial topics it discussed.

I found nothing to dislike in this book. It really covered all aspects of retirement plan. E. Alan Fleischauer also gave examples of specialized websites that can help us to evaluate our current job letting us know if we are really satisfied with it or not. Also such websites, for example the Career Planner website, helps us comparing between more than one job to detect which one is more suitable for us.

For what i mentioned above, i rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book for those who want to have a good plan for their retirement and still have enough time to do this. Also if someone needs to start a big change in his life but doesn't know how to do this, this book helps everyone to make a turning point in his life. Even if you are close to retirement, i think this book still can help you in many aspects to make your life better after retirement.
