The focus of this book is planning ahead, along with the fact that not many people actually do it or give it much thought. The majority of us spend our days in jobs we detest. The amazing and in-depth research conducted for this book by E. Alan Fleischauer is mostly focused on America, but it is unquestionably applicable to any country in the world. This book is thought-provoking and instructive on a wide range of subjects. So how do you plan ahead? There are many theories out there and they either focus on the left or right brain, never both. This is where this book comes in. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is about the concept of Reconfigurement financial planning to plan ahead. One aspect of what this means includes not quitting a job just because you don't like it without having other options in mind. Utilizing both the left and right brain is the true solution in Reconfigurement.

Due to financial constraints, the majority of people will have to continue working past the traditional retirement age of 65. Because of this, you must prepare in advance. This book explains exactly how to do so, what options to consider, and what small print to pay attention to. This book also offers a variety of career assessments to guide you in finding the jobs that are most suited for you. Throughout the book, Alan presented a few tasks on how to conduct your own assessments and how to analyze the outcomes. I cherished these unique details and became enamored with how amiable Alan's writing is. His enthusiasm for this book and the subjects covered was unmistakable. 

Although this is a serious book with a lot of financial advice, there were jokes in each chapter and stories to keep a lighter tone and help the book flow while making the information easier to grasp. This book was filled with motivational and inspiring reasons as to why you should follow the guidelines given. The discussions included topics about your career, income protection, disability policies, life protection, health insurance, investing, social security, retirement and retirement plans, wills and estates, and so much more. All of this is part of the reconfiguring process of planning ahead, reducing stress, and also enjoying your life before retirement. 

All of this information is packed into thirteen condensed, topic-specific chapters. Along with referenced literature on working from home and part-time jobs, taxes and budgets were also covered in these chapters! There wasn't anything I disliked about this book, and it made me aware of a variety of topics I hadn't even considered. I am one of those people that understands I need to start making plans for the future, but my finances just can't support it. Additionally, I discovered free money in the book's section on budgeting. Yes, free money exists, and this book is full of other eye-opening information. 

Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer earned a 4 out of 4 star rating from me due to its superb editing. While reading, I did come across a few errors, but nothing that diminished my enjoyment of the book. This book is incredibly educational and provides many encouraging reasons why you should start rearranging your life immediately, as well as instructions on how to do so. This book touches on so many subjects that you may be familiar with, but you may not be aware of the level of detail provided, the thorough research conducted, or the options accessible to you that are discussed in this book. I advise anyone over the age of thirty to read this book. This book has the power to alter people's lives by teaching them the value of advanced planning.
