Review of Reconfigurement
The book 'Reconfigurement' by E. Alan Fleischauer gives a brief explanation of retirement by going through what one should do when thinking to retire and the exact steps one ought to take. This book has thirteen chapters with different focus areas. The first chapter onsets with explaining the missing piece of retirement, income protection, and the need for change in traditional plans. Then proceeds with a focus on reconfigurement and individual disability insurance policies. It roughly scours the concept of assessment and its importance, furthermore; digs deep into the work value assessment. The book moves on by teaching life protection retirement planning and gives a brief explanation of ways of creating strategies for life protection. Proceeds with the type of life insurance and the kinds of annuities and moves on to social security by debunking myths concerning this, and mentions a few things about survivor benefits and spousal benefits i. Then explains investing, the advantages and disadvantages of mutual funds, and the classes they possess. Then it brings up what one mainly can stumble upon isaffordable health insurance and the available options. Moves on to new ideas which are estates, wills, and trusts, and expands its scope by adding advice on creating college saving accounts. Finally, the book ends with book recommendations about part-time jobs and working from home.
The book contains a least one joke per chapter, which made it enjoyable to read. The author used supportive facts about every topic that was raised and added their opinion, advice, and background to it. This gave the book a combination of informative and friendly stamina.
If I must state the negative aspects of the book, it will be the constant need of the author trying to be relatable. I do not believe that is necessary. Moreover, the age recommended for this book was 40-50 years but as someone who read it at the age of 20 and based on what is stated in the book in chapter four, it should be 30-40 years.
I rate The book 'Reconfigurement' by E. Alan Fleischauer 4 out of 4 stars. This book is very informative, well-composed, and supported by various facts and research. The author does their best to make the reader get informed and have fun at the time, which, in my opinion, is very hard to do with this kind of book. Usually, books like this are boring to go over but this one was different, I enjoyed reading it. Moreover, the book only has one or two typos and just a few word repetitions; thus the rating is well deserved.
I recommend this book to whoever wants to understand the importance of retirement planning and all the steps one should follow. It provides clear guidance on what to do, how to do it, and when to start doing it. This book is, without a doubt, one of the best books I've read.
