Seeing With Fresh Eyes by John W. Bullock is a detailed study of the salvation story from Genesis to Revelation. It is a passionate, thought-provoking discourse of the author’s perception of God’s plans and provision for mankind. Starting with the creation story, the reader is invited to explore the ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’, ‘where’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of creation. Then the writer unfolds the drama of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, starring Adam, Eve and the serpent. As the disobedient pair is banned from the garden the readers encounter the Cherubim, the Flaming Sword and still later, Cain and Abel. Amazingly, the stage is now set for the revelation of even more drama, featuring the children of Israel. It is enthralling how Mr. Bullock is able to draw a thread of continuity through the Old Testament, the Gospels and the New Testament. The skilfully narrated events prior to, during and after the Passion of Jesus, render the readers spellbound while having their eyes opened to the significance of each event. Remarkably, the readers also have starring roles in this ongoing saga. According to Mr. Bullock and the Word of God, we are all beneficiaries of the merits bestowed on us by the passion, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and His works of reconciliation. Quite masterfully, Mr. Bullock makes his readers aware of the gifts and accompanying responsibilities of salvation. This book is obviously intended to be more than just a good read, but is expected to have tremendous life changing impact on all readers as evidenced by the detailed questionnaire at the end of the book.

This author is very versed and comfortable with the material presented in this book. The information flows so beautifully and Mr. Bullock’s facts and opinions are more than adequately supported by numerous quotes and references.

The content of Seeing With Fresh Eyes is very intense, and, some of the author’s interpretations can be somewhat controversial. Some of the sentence structure is also a bit complex.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars .

Seeing With Fresh Eyes can quite easily be used as a resource for theologians and persons with keen interest in Scripture.
