Life expectancy in the United States of America is increasing with each decade. This means more years to enjoy life, more time with loved ones, and more technology to explore. However, there are two sides to a coin and this is no exception. An increased life span will also mean more brittle bones and more money required to sustain oneself beyond the working years. Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book that gives readers key information on planning for the future and their retirement.

As a financial advisor for more than 20 years, E. Alan Fleischauer has expert knowledge of the industry and different financial tools that are available for the reader to make the most of their money. The author highlights a combination of budgeting, insurance policies, retirement plans, and investments as suitable ways to create a comfortable life beyond the traditional retirement age of 65.

I enjoyed the level of detail and expertise that the author put into the book. His explanations were easy to follow and understand and were relevant to the current economic and social state of the world. His suggestions and methods are practical and one can easily implement his strategies and change their financial life.

The book was easy to read and engaging. The author used a mix of an informal style and humor to make the book comfortable to read. The reader can learn useful information that can help them in their retirement without feeling as though they are reading a lecture.

One downside of this book is that it is a book centered on the United States of America. Some of the financial instruments that the author eludes to are found only in America or are based on American principles that may not apply elsewhere, such as the 401(k). However, further research into alternatives that are found in your country can be made to replace such financial instruments.

The book was thoroughly and professionally edited, well-researched, informative, and understandable. As a result, I give Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

The book is a great financial tool and I would recommend it to anyone above the age of 16. Reading it early will help young adults create an easy blueprint for themselves that will lead to a happy retirement and adults can read to learn some techniques and compare if their current plan is as good as it can be.
