Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book meant to analyze and combine "the right and left brain" so that a real and complete solution for retirement can be given to its reader. It is a book that teaches you how to plan ahead for your retirement days. With each chapter, the author gives a thorough explanation, showing the essential tools and steps so that no one wakes up at 65 years old with no retirement plan, or worse, any idea of what that means. From "Money In, Money Out," where the author discusses the meaning of income and daily and future expenses, and "Insuring Your Life," which explains what life insurance is, what types of insurance there are, and their purpose, to "Long-term care," where it discusses its importance and types of programs for it, and "Wills and trusts," where it thoroughly explains the meaning, purpose, and things to do for each of them, Reconfigurement covers them all.

I liked the educational and funny information, jokes, and stories given as examples to sustain a point. Like the story of the wise farmer from a poor village in Afghanistan, meant to teach and show that pain and pleasure are meant to be seen as a pair and not separated, or the joke about Mr. Johnson, connected to the topic of lack of imagination in the Medicare plans. I also liked how the author used relatable examples, like the one about hockey and the grandson’s equipment, when talking about topics like income. It made it much easier to comprehend the information compared to a list with budget numbers and expenses that a family might have. Another aspect that I liked about the book is the sites and books that the author links to throughout the book, like the reading recommendations from chapter thirteen.

I could not find any negative aspect to complain about Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer. Although the book contained several aspects and terminologies like "variable annuity" or "municipal bonds" that I did not fully understand, it did not hinder my pleasure in reading and overall understanding of the book idea.

As I read the book, I noticed it was exceptionally well-edited. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. I am giving this rating because I could find nothing unpleasant about the book and because the author did a good job of conveying the desired message and maintaining my interest throughout the book, even though its subject is not of immediate interest to me.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in or planning retirement. It is never too late to get informed when it concerns aspects of your future.
