Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer
Disconnecting reality from tradition can be very hard. Having to unlearn bad habits is one of the hardest things that a person can do. This does not change when it comes to finances. Pursuing financial literacy is not an easy task but it can be rewarding if done correctly. In the last decade the average life span of American citizens has gone up by 30 years therefore, it is more important than ever to plan for the future. E. Alan Fleischauer is a financial advisor who has been in the industry for more than 20 years and through this book, he seeks to give advice on the different strategies one can employ to prepare for retirement.

I really enjoyed the style the author used to write the book. They often use stories to pass across the points that they want to emphasize. I found this to be fun and refreshing and there was never a dull moment when reading the book. The author provides great detail about different techniques that one can use to manage their funds. The reader gains insight into diverse techniques they can use depending on what fits them best.

The book encourages serious self-introspection to find out what works for you as an individual. I also liked how the author emphasized that applying foresight and meticulous planning is important when saving for the future. The book encourages the reader to begin planning for retirement as early as they can. I did not find anything I disliked about the book. A lot of the advice in it is simple to understand.

This is a highly conversational book. The author does not talk at the reader and instead engages them with witty stories which help give different perspectives in looking at life situations. The book also has an instructional aspect where the author provides detailed instructions for several situations. People rarely think about what their finances may look like after retirement but the author emphasizes how it is never too early to start planning for that phase of life. His extensive knowledge which comes from being in the industry for many years shines through as he gives insightful information on managing funds.

I give this book four out of four stars as it was enjoyable to read and seems to be professionally edited. I did not find any grammatical errors in the book. A solid financial strategy for the last phase of one’s life is crucial and therefore I would recommend this book to anyone above the age of 30.
