Review of Reconfigurement
As life expectancy rises, planning for the future becomes even more important to navigate today’s economic state. Reconfigurement is a financial help book written by E. Alan Fleischauer. The author has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector. He uses his professional expertise and insights to detail various subjects that can help the reader to improve their financial life and eventual retirement. Some of the topics included in the book are budgeting, investing, social security, disability insurance, and financial planning.
Each section is full of humor and to the point, making it pleasant to read. The author does not overwhelm the reader with too much information and financial terms, but rather explains each concept simply and concisely. The strategies and tips that he lists are easy to add to the reader’s life and are relevant to the current social and economic climate. One lesson that the reader will learn from this book is that the earlier you start the better, but you are never too late.
The book is thought-provoking and enlightening as Alan Fleischauer goes beyond traditional thinking and gives his take on matters. An example of this is his take on common social security myths and how different you can see retirement after changing your perspective. Another example of this is his opinion on enjoying your life both before and after retirement. He shares his belief in having a job you enjoy and not being afraid to make a change if you do not like your current work environment.
While the book does not exclude any readers, it does have a heavy focus on individuals in the United States of America. This is where the author resides and has detailed his book using the financial instruments and rules that are relevant to the American market. However, the underlying principles and guidelines are applicable anywhere and just require more research to adjust them to the readers’ options and needs.
The book is professionally edited and I did not find any errors. It is highly researched, informative, and enjoyable to read. It is because of this that I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
Everyone needs to have a financial plan. As a result, I would recommend this book to any reader. It is useful to have such books available in high school so that people start preparing themselves as early as possible. This book is also good for adults who have already started as they can gain new information and adjust their financial lives where necessary.
