Review of Reconfigurement
We all want to retire and live in peace. However, retirement is challenging and, of course, expensive. If we quit our jobs, where will the money come from? Most of us want to live a long life, but what is the use of prolonging our lives if our last years are possibly full of worries, illnesses, and precariousness? Therefore, if we want to retire successfully, we must plan ahead. There are many things to do, but you can start by reading Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer. The author makes us see the reality of aging through statements, data, and percentages. In his book, he details how tradition does not adjust to the current demands of the population. This book includes useful information to organize our future and alternatives that we can use to achieve retirement and not die trying.
I would have never imagined that this book would be so funny. Learning about life insurance, career testing, health insurance, wills, etc., was a pleasant experience under the author's writing. The topics covered in this book are pretty dull. However, the author offered a joke from time to time. Many readers may not like these jokes and may find that the jokes take away the seriousness of the book. As far as I am concerned, every joke in this book is valuable; I laughed a lot. Many topics are mentioned in this book, and the jokes helped me keep my attention on the reading.
This book made me realize that no matter how old we are, we can find a good job. The author made me see the problems that I have to face but also helped me see the solutions. The book has a chapter to help you learn what your abilities are and what kind of careers suit you. I learned what kind of personality I have, and now I know how to identify the perfect career for me.
The author is not inexperienced; he has experience as a financial advisor. Even with his mastery of the subject, he explained everything in a precise, didactic, and, as I already mentioned, humorous way. I did not know that there were so many insurances; it is noteworthy that the author took the time to explain each alternative in detail. I found it assertive that the book teaches that all insurances are useful, but it doesn't mean that they are all useful for me; it is about knowing how to choose the best according to my resources.
I have nothing negative to mention; I enjoyed every chapter and every joke present in this book. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I only found three errors; this book has been professionally edited. I recommend this book to people who are starting their families (recently married with children) ― the information in this book will be valuable in the future. It is also a suitable book for older adults who believe there is no way they can successfully retire.
