Dying Well by Susan Ducharme Hoben is a book that narrates the memorable life journey of the author and her family. A journey so remarkable that the story must and needs to be told. Susan, a mother of two, was at one point diagnosed with cancer of the breast. A big but sad news that threatened the lovely and perfect atmosphere of her beautiful family. Throughout this gruesome period of treatment and recovery, her heartthrob, Bruce was an ever present figure who was there to offer a lot of comfort. Despite the fact that some other complications arose during her recovery journey, Susan fought hard and won the battle and her family was back in the normal cheerful mood. However, trouble arose again when Bruce received the big news. Even though it was a devastating blow, the couple were determined to see everything through. They spent what they could afford to spend and did everything within their power and soon, there was a glimmer of hope. Will this hope return the family back to the usual cheerful mood or will it be short-lived? Are the trouble finally over or are there still some hurdles to cross?

Dying Well is an interesting and educative book. The author's experiences as well as how she went about everything are big proofs that people can indeed, 'die well'. The book was well-written and I like how the author narrated the events as they unfold in chronological order. What I also like about the book is how the author explained in detail, the medical terms which I think, will make it easier for readers who have little knowledge about the medical field to easily understand. I also like how the author describes each character and explains vividly, their relationship with her family. The conversations were clear and unambiguous.

Dying Well is really interesting, captivating and educative. I find no fault in the book.

I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book was well-written and detailedly narrated. The scenes, characters, medical terms and events are well described. Errors are rare which is a testament that the book was exceptionally proofread.

I would recommend Dying Well to people who are interested in reading non-fictions especially stories that are based on life experiences of others. I would also recommend this book to medical students, especially those specializing in cancerology. This book has a lot of terms relating to cancers which I think they may find helpful.
