Life doesn't have a manual, many people will say. Despite this being true to some extent, some people have been where you are going to be. You can get tips and guidelines from them. This is exactly what E. Alan Fleischauer did in Reconfigurement.

This book is a collection of plans, approaches, and strategies to plan for life, especially beyond 65 years after the normal retirement age set by the law in the U.S. It gives a breakdown of what is to be done before choosing a career, what to look out for when accepting a job offer, things that must be done when one starts earning, and strategies to employ to ensure one is catered for beyond the retirement age. This book is more or less a manual.

Discussing any topic is daunting and the writer always faces the possibility of losing the attention of the readers. Alan solves this daunting problem by engaging his readers with a conversational style of writing that keeps readers engaged. There is no way you can get bored. The writer keeps you engaged all through the book. For example on page 21 "You feel stuck with your debt if you can’t budge it.”Get it?."

Furthermore, you have the worth of your time reading this book. Since time equals money, you will also get your money's worth. It opens your eyes to issues like, "What career am I fit for?" You get to know what kind of career you should take on that you will able to enjoy and get fulfilled at. That is the first place most people get it wrong, isn't it?

Speaking more about strategies, Alan made sure you are acquainted with how to cater for yourself even beyond retirement age. He discussed different types of strategies that assure you that you will be catered for when you are older. You may not see the importance if you are in your twenties, but trust me you will not always be in your twenties. Do you think about how you will be catered to if you lose the ability to work? I know you don't. Worry not. This book has that covered.

Despite these beautiful attributes of the book (the intermittent jokes to lighten the mood of the book, the conversational style, and the links to more resources in it), it has a drawback. It contains a few errors. The bright side is they do not interfere with the book's message. Still, it will not be bad if such a wonderful book is error-free. I cannot say that it is exceptionally edited.

The book has more pros than cons so it worths a 4 out of 4 stars rating. It is so rich in information. I recommend it for everyone 16 years and above. It will be more meaningful to people in their thirties upward. Still, it is not bad to start early and reconfigure one's life from the onset, is it
