A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir about the author's diplomatic work and personal life. The book addresses global issues such as the Cold War, African decolonization, and the Israel-Palestine conflict. The author also recalls his childhood and the struggles while fighting the unfair system. As an ordinary Muslim man, there were many obstacles in his career and personal life. This story is an example of the triumph of a person who was not afraid of obstacles and injustice. The author dedicated his life to diplomacy and the pursuit of peace while also working on the challenging scientific subject of microbiology.

I like that the author told us in detail about his family, his wife, and their love story. Childhood and family shape our personalities and chart our paths, so the author's gratitude for them reflects the reader's emotions. My favorite part of the book is the eighth chapter, which tells the tale of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah and his wife's love. Amid the objections, Titi's calm attitude and words that it was only "the thorns on the bountiful roses of our love" reveal the strength and truth of their feelings.

A Dream For Peace is a very informative and educational book. The Cold War and the decolonization of African countries are extensively debated. History buffs will learn numerous previously undisclosed details and gain a new perspective on events. There are images of historical events and various documents in the book, which keeps the content from becoming dry and makes reading more entertaining. I was particularly interested in Cold War records and documentation. I can't remember any aspect of this book I didn't like. A Dream For Peace is professionally edited since I only noticed two minor errors. This did not detract from my enjoyment of the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is a fascinating memoir in many aspects, as it introduces the reader to previously unknown Algerian culture and traditions, as well as significant international events and the author's involvement with them. The book is divided into seventeen chapters, and each chapter is different from the rest. Additional information is provided in the prologue and epilogue. The book's core theme is peace, which every one of us should strive for.

I recommend this book to people who love history because this memoir deals with many important historical events. Readers fond of memoirs will also enjoy the book. The steadfast faith and attitude of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah are both inspiring and remarkable.
