Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a non-fiction book that offers tools and a sense of how to reconfigure your financial understanding. The word reconfigure means rearranging something in a new fashion. In the same manner, the author used his expertise as an entrepreneur and financial services executive to make clear the various components and how they fit together to construct an unfailing financial plan, as well as the importance of adequate preparation.

The author emphasizes giving deep consideration to one's retirement plan. From the general perspective of a retiree, the retirement phase is a "late-life crisis," but Fleischauer refers to it as a "turning point" instead. This shows Fleischauer's optimistic approach toward life. The same is reflected in his cheerful way of writing about such a deep subject as finance. He encourages his readers to not stop financial planning when they approach their retirement. To do so, he touches on almost every related topic, such as pension funds, injuries, insurance, and many others. He explains how to save for retirement while pursuing one's dream career effectively. He stresses the significance of having a comprehensive retirement plan that goes beyond the usual preferences of seniors that includes only typical savings and investment strategies. The book offers a chance for self-discovery, facts, figures, and statistics while giving a genuine portrayal of the issues. The reader can use this information to make wise and profitable decisions regarding their hard-earned funds.

The book includes discussions that focus mainly on the American financial system, and other parts of the world may not have the same structures. However, if you catch the zest, you can manipulate it to your requirements. I am fascinated by the author's presentation of facts and numbers backed by proper references. Everything the author mentions has been thoroughly investigated and tested.

The book is exceptionally well-edited, as I could not find any errors. I give this book four out of four stars because it has a less monotonous presentation than most finance books do. You might discover the importance of some points that otherwise remain overlooked.

This book is a great piece of mind for people over 40 years of age, because, of course, those are the author's targeted readers. However, I would recommend it to anyone who is transitioning careers or is interested in learning about the American financial system. Some of the links are very useful for self-evaluation of your career approach and financial planning. The author did not use heavy financial terms to put forward his views, which made it relatable even to a person who is not particularly intrigued by financial matters.
