The world continues to cow under the devastation caused by cancer. Millions of people have had their lives claimed by this monster, and even more have had their livelihoods destroyed. But shouldn't we have made tangible mileage by now ever since cancer was declared a global emergency and ever since extensive research was started to try and find a cure? Why is it that the only available treatments are the same expensive and often life-threatening options we've always had all through — surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy? The answer may as well shock you!

Sylvie Beljanski in Winning the War on Cancer: An Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure shows how "Big Pharma" are actively responsible for the misery millions of cancer patients go through. And it's not only cancer but every terminal or chronic disease that can be turned into a money mint. There are many scientifically tested, less toxic, and affordable natural remedies that have proved efficient in curing even the most malignant cancers. While such alternatives could potentially save millions of lives without exposure to radiation, toxic chemicals, or dangerous surgeries, the big pharmaceutical industries are certainly not happy about them. This book exposes what goes on behind closed doors and also gives a glimmer of hope in the assurance that these alternative medications carry.

I have always had immense contempt for the "big bullies" for their unethical practices, and it was great finding someone who shares the same view. These big industries will do anything for money even if lives are at stake. Be it the "Big Tech" or the "Big Pharma" in our case, the total disregard for more affordable alternatives is evident, especially if they don't bring them money or broaden their profit margins. In Sylvie Beljanski's case, her dad was arrested, harassed, and potentially poisoned for his research on a cure that even proved effective in treating the president of France at that time, President François Mitterrand, who had an advanced form of prostate cancer that even doctors and oncologists had given up on. Sylvia's dad faced it rough simply because his breakthrough threatened the mainstream pharmaceutical companies.

Generally, the book exudes perfection. The delivery was amazing and captivating, especially considering the author's style of incorporating her own experiences into the book. As much as I tried, I couldn't find anything negative about the book. The book has also been edited exceptionally well and there's no reason to give a rating lower than 4 out of 4 stars.

If you are battling cancer — or are a cancer caregiver who wants to bring a change — this book is for you. You will learn more about how natural alternatives could help us win the war on cancer.
