Reconfigurement is a non-fiction book that provides useful information on personal financial planning, investment, retirement planning, and insurance. This is a self-help kind of book that the reader can use to educate themselves on the most important yet confusing topics. This book explains the importance and the need for reconfiguration in one’s life. It also guides how to select a different career option, if we got stuck or not happy with the current one. The approaches and ideas are more practical rather than delusional.

The author E. Alan Fleischauer had written the book in a simple, informative, and in a conversational tone. He maintained a balance throughout the book, by including some dad jokes and little stories. One such joke that I remember well is “What kind of Chocolate do they have at the airport? Plane Chocolate”. The short stories included have provided more emphasis on the topics discussed.

As someone who started taking care of my family finances, I wanted to read this book. And I am very glad that I got to read this one. Though many things are entirely new to me, it is very knowledgeable. One among them is Disability Insurance. The details and benefits mentioned really made me search for the same in my locality.

What I liked most in this book was the Career Aptitude Assessment. As I consider changing my career sometimes, I found the assessment to be both interesting and fun. I liked how the author guides us in moving forward with the career change. I loved the style of writing which is more like having a casual yet informative talk.

There is nothing that I disliked about this book. The only thing I thought could have been better was, if the author included some part-time jobs and work from home jobs rather than listing the references. The book is written specifically for American people in their 30s and 40s. Such as the 401(k), acts, and policies passed in the United States. But I think at a higher level it will be informative for all.

This book kept me engaged throughout the end and I found it to be exceptionally well-edited without any errors. So I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I strongly recommend this book to American residents looking for a well-planned financial future. I think this will also be suitable for readers who wanted to have general knowledge about investments, retirement planning, and insurance.
