Winning the War on Cancer by Sylvie Beljanski is a book about cancer research. In this book, Sylvie details the history of the "war" against cancer. Making her father proud, she follows his legacy.

The book starts with a scientific breakthrough. This breakthrough should be enough to trigger significant responses and instill a feeling of relief in people who have toiled endlessly to bring an end to a ravaging disease. However, a drastic incident at Saint Prim countered the expected reactions. This book goes a long way to inform readers about the political nature of pharmaceutical companies. This book also gives information about the prioritization of economic value over human lives from people who are in public offices. Winning the War on Cancer details the journeys of the survivors of a dramatic event. These people are made to face the pain of putting their careers, homes, and finances back together.

One of the pleasant aspects of the book is the personal story that Sylvie Beljanski shared. I felt like I was reading a work of fiction where the heroine achieved a significant feat. Interestingly, the way this book was written did not make me doubt any piece of information. Thankfully, there were references provided in this book because I felt it was important for the sake of credibility. Also, the personal stories in this book gave it an emotional appeal that is not common in official reports and scientific books.

I couldn't come up with a negative aspect. This book was perfectly edited, and I did not encounter any errors in it. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I was impressed by the author's ability to explain medical technicalities in simple terms. It was more impressive because she appeared to be a specialist from a completely different faculty. Also, her competence in combining personal stories and professional accounts of her journey toward reviving her father’s legacy was commendable. In addition, I loved her courageous stance; it was quite admirable. I was intrigued by every aspect of this book. Because I couldn't fault it, I am awarding this book a perfect rating.

I recommend this book to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses. I believe that readers in the medical field should find this book eye-opening. It could also be a premise for further research. I also recommend this book to public officers because it calls for the supremacy of human lives.
