The advent of TV and technology at large has decreased mobility in humans. Also, junk foods and beverages have been on the rise. All these are part of the factors contributing to the increase in obesity cases. Obesity has been proven to be fatal, and it predisposes to other diseases too. How do we tackle all these? Well, the answer to the question can be found in Yvonne Kangong's book, What's Obesity Got to Do with It?

The author starts the book with the definition of obesity, and she statistically proves to us how obesity has been on the rise in America. She proceeded by explaining the causes of obesity and its pathophysiology. She continued by talking about how we can prevent obesity through some behavioral modifications. She concluded by talking about how an obese person can lose weight through some nutritional and physical activities. Check out this book to know what tips she gave.

What's Obesity Got to Do With It? by Yvonne Kangong, MD is an educating and eye-opening book that everyone should read, irrespective of whether you are obese or not. Obesity is not only a disease, but it is also a menace affecting the human population at large. So, this is something everyone should come together and collectively fight for.

One thing I love about this book is that the author did not intentionally educate and enlighten her readers on the harmful effects of obesity; she also took her time to explain the chemical and physiological reasons why obesity can affect its sufferers. This information will go a long way in convincing and educating the masses on the prevention of a deadly disease that affects our generation. Also, I love the quotes included at the start of each chapter. These quotes can offer some form of motivation for every reader. I also love the tables presented in the book.

However, I would say a dislike I have for this book is the use of medical terminologies and jargon. I might have been able to relate because of my medical background. Most readers might not understand the terms, which may discourage them from reading further. However, this will not affect my rating for this book. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book is exceptionally edited, too, because I found no errors.

I would recommend this book to people who would love to shed that excess weight.

I believe most people know how to lose weight and what to do to burn those excess fat, but it isn't as easy following that knowledge. I believe your mindset should be correct to push through the healthier eating and exercising. This sounds like an amazing and motivating book and is definitely in my shelves to read!

I like that the author tries to educate about the chemical and physiological reasons why obesity affects its sufferers. I am sure there is more causing obesity than eating unhealthy and the lack of exercise. Of course these are part of the problem, but not the only reasons. I have seen people eating excessively and doing just the minimum physical activities, and they never pick up weight. I hope this book will guide people into fighting obesity effectively. Thank you for the review.
