Money is an essential requirement in our day-to-day activities. Bills, debts, groceries, and even sudden emergencies are all situations handled by money. Once in a while, the need arises to enjoy certain pleasures ranging from holiday travels to fine dining to purchasing luxurious items. These necessities and pleasures are usually expensive and without a solid financial plan, the income generated over the years might not be sufficient to carry through to retirement. Therefore, to achieve a stress-free retirement, a well-laid financial plan needs to be put in place.

To this effect, author E. Alan Fleischauer has written Reconfigurement, in the form of a self-help guidebook that explores a broad spectrum of the subject of finance with the focus placed mainly on retirement planning. The author, who is a certified financial advisor has employed his expertise in the financial services industry, and with the combination of extensive research, created this book. It contains the most practical ways to handle and manage income/finances from youth, to attain a stress-free retirement. The principles of financial literacy and their benefits have also been iterated and explained.

I must confess that I had reservations about reading this book as financial matters are not my forte, but after I read the first chapter I was completely immersed in it. Reconfigurement is certainly not your typical book on finance. The book is not too bulky with only a hundred and forty-eight pages and has been written in a personable style that is simplified and easy to understand. The main highlight for me is how the author has incorporated humor throughout the book. This key element which shows the wittiness of the author adds a lively and refreshing feel to the otherwise dreary subject. This book is insightful, enlightening, and an overall learning experience. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and gained a lot from it.

While reading, I found no grave errors of any kind, and for that, I commend the author on the editing of the book.

Reconfigurement is absolutely deserving of a full-star rating of 5 out of 5. There was absolutely nothing I disliked about this book.

This book is suitable for anyone who desires to learn how to plan for retirement and handle their finances in the best ways, and is highly recommended to anyone with a desire to achieve financial freedom.
