Review of The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power
The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power presents the author's vision for three sectors - buildings, transportation systems, and the electric grid.
You won't find any futuristic fantasies in this book, but you will get predictions about the energy future that are based on facts. The book has a solid and clear look at developments in the technology of the future. Roger Duncan and Michael E. Webber, the authors of The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power, tried hard to prognosticate realistically. They wrote that it will take many years for the most of innovations, mentioned in the book, to become standard. And I agree with them. The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power made me aware of important knowledge that, in my opinion, our society needs to know and share.
Every part of the book has something for everyone but my favorite part is "the future of buildings" because I learned a lot about new technologies in architecture that is unpopular worldwide at the moment, but they have a high potential and benefits for our planet and our well-being in the future. The book projects that buildings will be more energy efficient in the future, as well as that they will be constructed faster and with lighter, recyclable materials; smart technologies will allow inhabitants to make their days much easier. Besides, I also love that the authors used a lot of appropriate historic facts in their book. With their help, I got the point of the main purposes and regularities of technology development. I appreciate the clarity of the information presented in this book.
There's nothing I don't like about The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power. It's well written, and the information in this book is quite useful. Especially, it would be useful if you have some questions about the future. However, only if you don't like learning something new and special, you may get bored while reading this one.
In summary, I rate The Future of Buildings, Transportation and Power 4 out of 4 stars or 5 out of 5 stars because it left such a good impression on me. Moreover, I didn't notice any grammatical errors or typos in it and I was satisfied with the authors' writing style. Also, I wasn't disappointed by the content at all. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in future technology or just wants to get a piece of knowledge.
