Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a self-help book about planning for retirement. It is a book written by a financial expert with several years of experience handling financial portfolios for hundreds of clients. The author stressed that the fact that people are beginning to live longer now requires that they start having strategic financial plans for their retirement. After working with several people on their retirement plans, the author discovered a lot of loopholes in many people’s retirement packages and decided to create a program to address this issue. According to the author, many Americans quit their jobs without a backup plan for another job or career. Several others also retire at a certain age without having any plans for how they will survive after retirement. The author posited many modern retirement plans that supersede traditional ones and gave insight into new retirement strategies that can help provide a compelling and enjoyable journey for retirees. The author also discussed different types of life insurance plans, including their benefits and drawbacks, and advised readers to seek the advice of financial advisors when selecting insurance plans. The author further listed many investment plans and advised readers on how they can invest their money in a way that will yield interest rather than keeping raw cash that has no market value. Furthermore, he talked about mutual funds, their history, how to invest in them, and their benefits and drawbacks. Finally, he advised readers on how to make the most of their health insurance plans without compromising their health.
Reconfigurement is an insightful book that helps guide readers on how to plan for their retirement. This book is about securing a perfect future for readers and their loved ones. Everything one needs to know about becoming financially independent is explicitly covered in this book by the author. The author covered several topics about personal financial planning, and there were separate chapters for different subjects to ensure readers had a better understanding of what lay ahead. This excellent book allows readers to see their future from another perspective by addressing issues people knowingly avoid. The author equally provided reasonable grounds for frugality, which everybody needs in this modern time of unlimited access to many unnecessary and expensive ultramodern toys. What I liked most about this book is the organized and comprehensive way the author reviewed several complex financial topics that many professionals try to avoid. Even though I cannot say I have a thorough understanding of the whole book, I can at least say I know what it means to be prudent and financially responsible. My favorite part of the book is the section on investment planning, which I will do something about in the future. Then I can boldly say that I gained something new by reading this fantastic book.
My only criticism of this book is that the author included many financial topics that might be too advanced for readers. I believe the author should have simplified the book by limiting the financial concepts. This simple act would have made the book less complex and easier to understand for readers.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is insightful, educational, enlightening, and conversational. The author also did an excellent job of engaging readers throughout the book. Although the book looked more like a financial textbook at some points, I never got bored because of the fascinating way the author carried readers along with the natural flow of the book. Hence, I have no reason to deduct any stars because the book was exceptionally well edited and thus deserves a perfect rating.
I recommend this book to anyone who aspires to be financially self-sufficient for the rest of their lives on Earth. Also, for those who would love to invest and plan financially, this book is a must-read for them.
