Review of A Dream For Peace
It has not been an easy task for one to bring change to a society over the years. I have come across so many memoirs of great men who all tried in their numerous ways to bring about change in the society or in the country as a whole. I just met the author of this extraordinary and motivating memoir, A Dream for Peace, and it was written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. This book will fill your mind with amazement, for sure. This book gives us details on the author’s journey of bringing change not only to his country but also elsewhere. This story is filled with a lot of lessons and insights that one can learn from.
The author of this great book, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, was born in a small city in Algeria and came from a polygamous home. His birth town faced a series of security scares. His mother was a very strict woman and an authoritarian who had an interest in only her children getting a quality education. The country where he came from was under French colonial rule at that time, and this made the study of the French language compulsory in their educational syllabus. One can only imagine the torture of learning a totally different culture in your own country. It’s a result of what happened at the graduation ceremony—there was an anti-colonial protest. The award given to the most excellent student was not fairly awarded, and this stirred up the protest. Notwithstanding the fact that the author was awarded a scholarship to study at any university of his choice regardless, the fight didn’t end there. Later on, Dr. Ghoulem got arrested. If you really want to know what happened afterwards, go get a copy of this book.
I must confess that I loved this book because of the bravery of the author; it actually got me amused. It made me impatient to read more about him going through a lot just to attain peace. His story and the role he played in the decolonization of his country were very inspiring and engrossing to me, and of course, he became a very successful man. His ordinance gave him the opportunity to meet with different eminent world leaders. He became the first ever scientist to come upon theories that were later recognized by Reverse Transcriptase Enzyme. This great book restored hope to many African countries. Every reader of this book has to imitate the author of this great book. He wasn’t only a fighter for freedom; he was also a good son, friend, and father, and above all, a very good role model. I discovered that running away from your nation in times of need can never be the best solution.
Throughout my encounter with the book, I couldn’t help but dislike the abbreviations in this book. The abbreviations were complex, and this reduced the pace at which I read. Apart from this slight issue, I enjoyed the book.
I would love to rate A Dream for Peace 5 out of 5 stars. The minor issue of the abbreviation didn’t deduct any stars, as I didn’t see any blunders and the writing style of this book was excellent. It had a slight erotic content, but that didn’t really matter. The book was well edited.
Lastly, I would recommend this book to all freedom fighters. If you’ve always had a dream to restore peace to your society or nation, I’ll suggest that lovers of memoir go for this guide, and those who also have an interest in politics would definitely love this book.
