The Complete Guide to Self-Directed Inner Family Healing: Seeking… Finding… Healing… written by Becky Lu Jackson offers advice on how to find peace and design your dream lifestyle. When the author discovered this method, she was 32 years old and in the midst of overcoming her addiction to drugs, alcohol, and eating. She had accepted the fact that her past had had a significant detrimental impact on who she was. She embraced the idea of creating an inner family to help her recover from her past trauma. The author had important ideas about the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and romantic levels of her life. She brought her younger self from different ages and worked to create bonds with them to listen to their grievances. Because of this, she was able to identify and resolve the main problems. Becky found the inner family concept to be particularly enlightening, especially when it came to adopting it, from its inception to its completion. She emphasizes practices such as writing, meditation, and visualization, which are essential when trying to understand the inner family notion. Besides younger selves, future selves are also included in the inner family healing idea. Becky also shares stories of how she has guided others along their healing journeys, which she has encountered along her path.

I chose this book because I was looking for something different, and the title also interested me to read it. I was also interested in discovering more about my inner self. I liked Becky's creativity when it came to the visualizations, particularly the ones where she imagined what the younger Becky would wear. Furthermore, I appreciated the many lessons I learned from this book. I learned that some of our old beliefs might be wrong, but with topic inventories, you can try to figure out how you came to those conclusions. I realized through this book that when you treat people with resentment, you actually hurt yourself more than you hurt them. It is also essential to take care of your body because it is the vessel for your existence. Without it, you would not be. I liked that the author provided a background for the book by outlining the expectations for each chapter. The script for meditation and mental image that she provided was very helpful to begin the method of healing.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. Seeking… Finding… Healing… is an exceptional book. The chapters flow together easily, and it teaches how to do inner family healing step-by-step.

There are no errors I encountered in this book, and therefore, I suffice that it has been exceptionally well-edited. Jackson's recommendation is compassionate and supports her experiences. I admire her for having the courage to share her inner healing path with the world, which certainly wasn't an easy thing to do. I rate this book five out of five stars.

Anyone who wants to gain a more in-depth understanding of their inner self or heal their inner wounds should read this book. Readers who are interested in initiating positive thinking, having new insights into your inner self, and how to communicate with it would find this book interesting.

The author sounds like a brave woman to overcome those addictions. I am not a fan of self-help books but I will be happy to share this woman's journey as it inspires people a lot. Great review.
